This relaxing destination is located on the edge of the provincial Bulskampveld estate and close to the historical and illuminating city of Bruges. You can stay there with or without a horse.

The Design
Following the movement of the sun
There is an open kitchen with dining table as well as a living area with TV and open fire. The terrace can be used throughout the year thanks to its sliding sunroof and exterior fireplace.
The lodge offers 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms to accommodate 8 guests. The shape of the lodge has been defined according to the movement of the sun. The bedrooms are located where the sun rises; the sun sets in the living area.
Our guests can greet their horses at all times as the main glazed corridor offers a view on the stables and the front windows on the fields.
The Equilodge is immersed in nature allowing you to take a real break.
A forest garden has been implemented to restore the soil and as a consequence animal habitat, to produce food and to reconnect with nature and relax.
Amenities and materials
The lodge is almost energy neutral
Thanks to the installation of heat pumps for heating and passive cooling and solar panels for electricity supply.
The water is completely purified through a natural individual water purification system based on a charcoal biobed. Rain water is captured and re-used as much as possible.
Tripel glazing, cellular and wood isolation, concrete floors, walls made out of stones in baked earth enable the control of the thermal mass keeping the lodge very comfortable at all times.
The exterior facades are finished with European larch of which the top layer has been burned according to the Shou Sigu Ban principle. This ancient Japanese method ensures a durable façade finish. The carbonized layer offers resistance to weather influences and is mold and insect repellent.
The awning in naturally aging larch wood keeps the sun out in the summer and maximizes the solar gains in winter. Necessary pavements are installed with permeable materials.

Horse Accommodation - eight stables and 2 fields
Equilodge has 8 stables with drink and food bowls. Straw is provided. We ask our guests to bring their own food for the horses and hay if required.
Important: Please let us know when booking if you are coming with your horse(s) .
A manure bin is available for our guests to remove the manure if required and is emptied once a week. A water hose is located in the left corner of the building to rinse the legs after your ride.
Two fields with water and electricity are available.
